I stood staring at the large brown double doors leading to the cafeteria, weighing my options; either I could enter and humiliate myself like any other typical day, or I could conceal myself inside the four walls of the bathroom. Or maybe, I could continue standing here until the bell rang. I sighed and pressed my hand against the door, gathering the courage to push it open.

Normally, someone would think it was stupid for a girl like me to be so pressured to walk in to a lunch room. But not every girl faces the humiliation of sitting isolated in the far corner of the cafeteria, while all the other cliques laughed together staring incredulously at me. Every single day.

I examined the peeling paint of the ugly brown door before pushing it open. Smells of freshly cooked food and sounds of laughter came to life, and I walked one foot in front of the other, across the room to get some food.

I sat down at my single table ignoring the quick glances thrown at me from the table nearby, and began picking at my food.

I suddenly got the feeling that someone was staring at me, besides the snide glares from the other girls passing by. I looked up and was startled to see a blue eyed boy staring at me from across the room. Time stopped as I was engulfed in the sparkling pools of his eyes. I knew I should've stopped staring but I couldn't look away. I had a feeling inside that I never had before, like for once I wasn't the annoying pebble in everybody's shoe. As if someone finally noticed me, and could see passed the first impression that I was an outcast. I realized I had been staring for too long, and I blinked a few times to see that the mysterious boy was no longer at the table, but standing right in front of me.
